Customer Review: Our owlet dream sock is a must have!! It works so good and has put us at ease every night since having our son. It is expensive but so worth the money! It tracks their sleep in three different phases. Active or awake, light sleep, or deep sleep. It tracks their oxygen saturation along with their heart rate. We have had a couple times that his oxygen has gone down and it has alarmed. I am a very deep sleeper and the alarm is loud enough to wake me up. They send you two different sized socks and they are slightly stretchy and fit so good! We have used ours everyday for the last year and it still works like a champ. Super durable and soft fabric.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. I am an unusual reviewer in that all three of our kids had medical alert devices for 6-9 months after birth. They were prescribed though we at times wondered if they were medically necessary. I understand this has not been rated as a medical device, but my point is that we know more about monitoring heart rate (bradycardia in our case) than many. We also looked deeply at the science involved. Now those kids are having babies, so I give this monitor an informed grandparent seal of approval.Since the time of most concern is early, there is little danger that the sensor will be removed starting out. It certainly is wise to be sure it fits snugly, but doesn’t chafe. A covering sock is also a common hack. Eventually there is every likelihood the sensor will be removed, but that may also be an indicator that the time of most concern is ending or over. Pitocin, commonly used to induce labor, can be associated with bradycardia, which does not always resolve immediately. SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) is still a risk even with the widespread practice of “safe sleeping” habits. Since it is still unexpected and unexplained, it is impossible to predict. So essentially here you have a combination of a smart watch and a monitor camera with an app that gives alerts. That is all very familiar tech these days and I’m happy to see it available for newborns and their parents. While the camera is only 2.5k, not 4k, it is point and zoom which makes that sufficient for nighttime monitoring. It does not have supplemental infrared light like some night vision cameras.I suggest starting with lots of alerts and then tailoring them to your needs as you become comfortable distinguishing between false and meaningful alarms over time. If you tend toward hypervigilance, a device like this may also allow you to make your own tweaks (in your vigilance) without disturbing your baby more than necessary. While the sock should be discarded somewhere around 9-12 months (it says it can be used up to 18 months,) the camera and the app with its alerts can continue to be used much longer (or until baby #2?!)
Customer Review: For any parent with a newborn the sense-U smart baby sock monitor has been a reassuring addition to our daily routine. It gives real time tracking of heart rate, sleep, trends, and movement in a way that feels both reliable and not intrusive to our little one. The sock sensor is soft, easy to slide on and seems comfortable for our baby. We love that it alerts us immediately if anything seems off, which has helped us sleep a bit easier ourselves. Its camera delivers crisp, clear video day and night, and the pan tilt zoom feature means we can check from any angle without disturbing her sleep. The app that comes with the monitoris intuitive, letting us review sleep patterns, and trends overtime – something that’s already helped us fine-tune nap and bedtime routines. What really stands out is the combination of well-made hardware and intelligence software. The alerts are timely without being overwhelming, and the video feeds stay smooth even when we’re checking in from outside the house. Set up was straightforward, it doesn’t drop connectionand the range and responsiveness of the camera have given us confidence that we won’t miss any moments. For any new parent, looking for a top end monitoring solution that goes beyond basic out of your video, this system brings peace of mind and valuable insight into our babies, health and sleep habits.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. This eufy Security Baby Monitor Smart Sock ended up being one of those baby items that made me feel calmer and more confident as a parent, especially during those moments when you just want to peek in and make sure everything is okay. From the very first time we used it, it felt reassuring knowing I could keep an eye on my baby’s sleep, naps, and heart rate without constantly sneaking into the room and accidentally waking them up. The sock itself is soft and gentle, and it fits comfortably without feeling too tight or bothering my baby while they sleep. I really liked how easy it was to put on and take off, even when my baby was wiggly or half asleep. Once it’s on, it connects through 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and sends updates straight to your phone, which feels almost like having an extra set of eyes watching over your baby while you rest or get things done. One of my favorite features is how it tracks sleep patterns and naps, because it helps you understand your baby’s routine better over time instead of guessing. Seeing when my baby slept longer, when they woke up, or when naps were shorter helped me adjust our schedule and feel more in tune with their needs. The heart rate tracking adds another layer of peace of mind, especially during those early months when every little thing can feel scary. Instead of constantly worrying, I could quickly check the app and feel reassured that everything was normal. The alerts are helpful without being overwhelming, and the system feels smart but still simple enough for everyday use. I also appreciated that it doesn’t feel bulky or uncomfortable for my baby, which was really important to me. Even during longer sleep stretches, the sock stayed in place and worked consistently. Over time, this monitor became part of our daily routine, not something that caused stress or extra work. It actually helped me relax more, sleep better, and enjoy my baby instead of constantly worrying. Whether it was nighttime sleep or daytime naps, I felt more connected and informed without hovering. For parents who want extra reassurance without complicated setup or heavy equipment, this smart sock feels like a gentle helper in the background. It doesn’t replace being a parent, but it definitely supports you, especially during those moments when peace of mind is everything. Overall, the eufy Smart Sock is a thoughtful, comforting tool that makes caring for your baby feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more confident.
Customer Review: After owlet discontinued the support for older socks, we were faced with a decision I wasn’t expecting. After some research we decided to go with eufy, and I’m SO glad we did.We have been using this every night for about a month now, and so here’s the in-depth review I wished I could have had at the time I was looking. The sock design is so much better than other ones out there. I have no struggles putting it on since the sensor goes right on the top of the foot. Super simple. I also personally have not had any issues with the sock part being super worn or falling apart either, though she only wears it at night. If it does happen to come off for any reason, the base calmly tells me and there’s a little image that lights up. It is so much better than the blaring music of previous products I’ve had. I personally rely on the base rather than phone notifications and I’ve had no issues. You can turn off the notifications it does if you want to keep it in baby’s room (since it does charge it).It is wonderful for peace of mind, but it does so much more than that. It tells me how good my baby is sleeping, when and how often she woke up, her heart rate, her oxygen, if she’s moving around, and how much sleep she got overall.I have my daughter in a mini crib a few feet away and this wonderful base has an image that lights up when she’s wiggling, and will stop when she stops. It has helped me not get up every 5 seconds to check on her when I hear noises, making my sleep so much better.I have not had any issues like other people have reported regarding the oxygen sensing. It has never been suspiciously low. The oxygen sensing is in BETA testing so it will NOT notify you if something weird happens on the oxygen front, but you can always look at it in the app. It will notify you of a drastic heart rate change though. I would suggest going into the app settings and changing the heart rate notification parameters a bit so you get an earlier notification if something starts going strange. I love the app. It is simple and straight to the point. You can also invite other people (dad) to have access to see what’s going on and be notified as well. The only issue I’ve had is the sock not charging from putting it on the base a tiiiiny but off. It will make a noise when it starts charging so make sure you listen for it. The battery life is a little over 24 hours, so I have used it on low battery a second night and the base will tell me calmly when it’s about to die.For the price, I am so impressed. I would get this over other monitoring systems out there, especially if you can use HSA or FSA funds. Love it so much. So thankful.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I HIGHLY recommend all parents have this device. We’ve used Owlet for all of our 4 kids, and it has been a total lifesaver for peace of mind. Recently, our 6-month-old became very sick. The Owlet critically alerted to her heart rate in the 225s after just waking and not crying. Seeing the alerts and verifying this wasn’t a glitch, we rushed her to the ER where she was admitted. Without it, we might not have realized how seriously her health was declining. The Owlet’s early warning gave us the chance to act fast. I honestly can’t imagine what could have happened if we hadn’t been aware. We were also able to look back at her heart rate history throughout the night and could see it trending upwards two hours before she hit dangerous levels. While the device isn’t perfect, sometimes the connection is glitchy or camera load times are slow, knowing our baby’s breathing and heart rate are being monitored gives peace of mind that is absolutely priceless. Every parent of a young baby should have one.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: The app works very well, we have experienced no glitches at all. The beeping sound is loud enough to hear, but “soft” enough that it can just give the back of your mind that peace that you are monitoring your baby. It is not a disruptive beep. The soft beeping sound as you sleep is more like a gentle reassurance to your subconscious that your baby is ok as you get whatever sleep you can between feedings. It is oddly relaxing to a nervous parent, when you SHOULD be relaxing. For when you need to wake up and take action, the vibration and alert goes off as expected when you remove the device and forget to shut it off, so it is definitely loud enough that it would wake a baby and parent if ever needed. The verbal notification is good too-persistent and demanding enough to get your attention, but it is not annoying as you would expect something like that to be. It’s only going to go off unnecessarily if you remove the device and forget to shut it off. It only takes a second to dismiss the alert and finish dressing baby or changing diaper. This is great for any parent who room shares (if you want to be in a separate room you will need the base station which I do not have), anyone who really needs the portability, for example of you frequently stay at hotels, you just clip the monitor on the baby and turn the app on-no complicated set up with cameras and wires and under mattress sensors. This can be used anywhere that you set baby down, as long as it is not something that moves (like swing or car seat). In that case you get temp alerts but you cannot assume the abdominal movements as the device is sensing the movement of the swing or car.Overall, this is a great, simple monitor that provides just what I need for peace of mind. I’m not looking for oxygen levels and heart rates, sleep data, etc…I really just want to not be getting up super frequently because of my paranoid need to check to see if baby is breathing and still on her back. I use it extensively. This monitor has given me exactly that-it’s letting me sleep better and “checking” for me that she’s ok. Thank you so much for such a great product for nervous parents like me!The
Customer Review: My baby was a NICU baby delayed coming home due to breathing apneas, so a monitor for breathing was critical for me. I received a Nanit and I purchased and Owlet. If your concern is whether or not your baby is alive, breathing, and safe – this is the monitor for you. I was so surprised as I bought this one on a whim, but it has been my lifesaver and peace of mind. This is the easiest one to use. Nanit is hard because the band is unsafe to use unless your baby sleeps with arms free – not right for a neonate with startle reflex. The owlet sock only has 15 hours of battery life, and there is always a risk of it getting dirty when you change the child’s diaper. Plus, it doesn’t mention breathing – just heart and oxygen. Neither of these are as good at also tracking if your baby is in a safe position for sleep (on back). Owlet cannot do that at all. And it is the only one getting a close reading of baby’s temperature – something I didn’t even know to worry about until he got home. And the Sense-U came to save me again. This is easy to use – clip it on the diaper. Its battery lasts FOR DAYS. When Nanit can only help you at night and Owlet can only help you so long, this thing laps them with days and days of battery life. You could travel overnight or 2-3 nights no charger and use it all day. It is also the only one I could take in the car with me when I cannot see my baby. All I needed to do was glance at my phone and see he is breathing and not overheating.Finally- in the NICU when baby has apnea, we go stimulate the baby to remind them to breathe. No other monitor will stim the baby for you – but this one does. It is not a replacement for your stim or supervision, but this one vibrates and beeps right at the baby’s navel if breathing becomes a concern. Imagine if – god forbid – you didn’t hear an alert. Well Sense-U is going to go off with a little stim for you immediately (before you can ever get there once you heard the alarm). Plus- you don’t need to go appease a base station (Owlet). This was the best sensor I bought and the one I use the most despite it never receiving the hype of competitors. If you want to know sleep quality or heart rate, get an owlet. If you want a great integrated monitor experience and your baby is sleeping arms free, get a Nanit. But if you want to enhance your monitoring of knowing baby is safe and alive – get a Sense-U.
Complete Buying Guide for Baby Monitor Sock
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing the best baby monitor sock, several factors play a crucial role in ensuring you get the right device for your needs. We always prioritize accuracy and reliability. Look for monitors that use proven technology to track vital signs like heart rate and oxygen levels. FDA clearance, as seen in some Owlet models, can be a strong indicator of a product’s accuracy and safety standards. Ease of use is also vital; a monitor should be simple to put on your baby and connect to your chosen device, whether that’s a dedicated base station or a smartphone app. Notifications should be clear and timely, alerting you without being overly intrusive. Finally, consider the comfort and fit of the sock itself. It should be made from soft, breathable materials and come in multiple sizes to grow with your baby, ensuring it stays securely in place without causing irritation.
Budget Planning
Baby monitor socks range widely in price, from more affordable baby monitor options to premium bundles that include cameras and advanced features. When budgeting, consider what features are absolute must-haves for your family. If vital sign tracking is your primary concern, a standalone smart sock might be sufficient. If you also want video monitoring, then a bundle that combines a sock with a camera might be a better investment. Remember to factor in any potential ongoing costs, such as subscription fees for advanced app features, although many excellent options like the eufy monitor offer comprehensive features without a monthly charge. Don’t forget that sometimes investing a little more upfront can lead to greater peace of mind and more durable equipment in the long run.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right baby monitor sock is a personal decision that balances technological capabilities with your family’s unique needs and budget. These devices offer an incredible layer of reassurance, providing constant monitoring of your baby’s vital signs and sleep patterns. Whether you opt for an FDA-cleared model for maximum accuracy, a budget-friendly bundle with a camera, or a portable clip-on sensor, the goal remains the same: to help you sleep better knowing your little one is being watched over. Consider the features that truly matter to you, read customer reviews, and pick a monitor that will provide the peace of mind you deserve.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How accurate are baby monitor socks for tracking vital signs?
A: Many baby monitor socks, especially those with FDA clearance like some Owlet models, use medical-grade pulse oximetry technology for high accuracy in tracking heart rate and oxygen levels. While they are not medical devices meant to diagnose or treat conditions, they provide reliable data that can alert parents to significant changes in their baby’s well-being.
Q: Do baby monitor socks connect to my smartphone?
A: Yes, most smart baby monitor socks are designed to connect to your smartphone via a dedicated app. This allows you to view real-time data, receive notifications, and access sleep insights directly from your phone, giving you flexibility and remote monitoring capabilities.
Q: Are baby monitor socks safe for newborns and infants?
A: Generally, yes. Leading brands design their baby monitor socks with soft, breathable, and hypoallergenic materials that are comfortable for a baby’s delicate skin. They typically come in multiple sizes to ensure a snug yet gentle fit. It’s always important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper placement and use to ensure safety.
Q: What’s the main difference between a smart sock monitor and a traditional video monitor?
A: A traditional video monitor for baby primarily allows you to see and hear your baby. A smart sock monitor goes a step further by actively tracking physiological data like heart rate, oxygen saturation, and sleep patterns. Many modern systems, like the Owlet Dream Duo, combine both a sock and a camera to offer both visual and physiological monitoring.
Q: Do all baby monitor socks require a monthly subscription?
A: No, not all baby monitor socks require a monthly subscription. While some brands offer optional premium features or advanced analytics through a subscription service, others, such as the eufy Smart Baby Sock Monitor, provide all their core features and data tracking without any ongoing monthly fees. It’s important to check the product details for any subscription requirements before purchasing.
