I’m serious when I say not with this monitor. I have tried at least five different ones from Amazon and I ended up having an issue with every single one. Here is why I was SO pleasantly surprised by this monitor: Pros: – the sound ROTATES ROOMS! Every 10/15 seconds it rotates rooms so you can hear both rooms. Most monitors you have to manually flip it and I needed a monitor I could hear both – because of the size, I can see the kids whole room. Huge plus when friends are over and we need to keep an eye on everyone – the lenses are WIDE angle!! This means in split screen mode, I can see a LOT of the room (which means I can have the whole crib or bed in view even in split screen mode). – speaking of split screen, it is a split screen!! I want to always see both my kids and this does exactly that. – easy charging. This takes USB-C and I can use my charging cables I already have. I do t need to remember a “special” cable. Huge. – it shows the time on the screen. I didn’t realize how awesome this was until I used it as a clock in the middle of the night. Now when the kids wake up I know what time it is right away. – separate volume and brightness buttons. No more hitting so so many buttons to just adjust volume. Customer Review: “Update 2/21/26: Have used it 4 months. It’s been on all day of every day. Zero issues at all. Baby’s room is on the top floor and the screen works all the way in our basement. Same with going outside to the hot tub – still works. One thing I have LOVED that I didn’t know I needed: the VOX setting (I think is what it’s called). The absolute best feature on this thing… Basically what it is is that there is no sound coming out of this device until the baby makes noise. We use white noise in her room so with a regular camera I would then hear the white noise all night on my screen. But I don’t want to hear noise unless I need to hear noise? So this device basically mutes itself until it hears the baby and then turns on. Also, previous cameras I’ve used have had the little light bar on the side that moves up and down as it hears noise…hated that thing. It’s so bright when you’re trying to sleep even if the baby’s not making noise. But there’s no light bar on this one. So for me personally, huge improvement. 10/10 recommend. You know how something seems like WAY too good to be true so you’re just waiting for it to fail? That’s where I’m at with this. I’m immediately enamored with this thing, which can only mean it won’t last or something horrible 😅 This is by FAR the best monitor I’ve fired up. Customer Review: “This product is incredible, my baby is 11 months old now and we have been using it every single day for 11 months with no decline in its abilities. We use it every single night, and during the day for our baby’s naps. We have never had any connection issues, it is not connected to the Wi-Fi so it can always work. The battery life is still incredible, I don’t think I’ve ever lost battery even when I accidentally leave it on all day. I keep it plugged in all night too. I like the small screen, you can fit it in your pocket and even go garden outside with it, and the connection still stays. I think the only negative I have found is that if the power goes out it doesn’t work. Because the physical camera needs to be plugged in. So unless you’re in an area that gets power outages all the time, I highly recommend this product. We bought a second one just to throw in our diaper bag, so that when we visit family or go out of town, we just have a second one ready to set up in any room at all times. As for the image quality, I find it perfectly fine. If you are an insanely anxious parent and need to be able to see the physical air come in and out of your baby’s nostrils, it probably is not high-quality enough for you. I could usually see my baby breathing if I looked long/hard enough. But mainly it’s just good at seeing how your baby is shifting around, and the microphone is incredibly good so you can absolutely hear when the baby is crying or rustling around. It definitely has night vision, I can totally see my baby at night in the dark. Customer Review: “Wanted to wait a week or so after setting up to leave my review, but honestly could’ve left it on day one and it would’ve been the same. This monitor is the best bang for your buck that you’ll find, and probably even better than more expensive ones. Next to perfect image quality and audio. Color video during the daytime. I love the no wifi feature for security purposes and because we experience outages a LOT, and travel in a camper during the summer. The range covers every area in my home (not super large but it’s all we need!). If it ever buffers or lags, it’s very brief and has never caused any functionality issues. The kickstand makes it convenient to watch hands-free and the options are all very easy to explore and understand. This monitor comes with a mount, the handheld screen, and the camera with two powers cords. All the other monitors I was considering were twice the price and needed additional purchases to be mounted. Don’t waste your time or and especially don’t waste your money. Only thing I’d suggest is the ability to purchase more compatible cameras at a discounted price. I’m not comfortable paying equal or more to the starter package for just the camera. The HelloBaby 5” monitor has a drop proof magnetic case for the handheld device by Encased, which I would pay the full $35 for just the case if they made one for this!! Otherwise, amazing product.
