Customer Review: A fine coffee maker! We are thrilled with it, and it operates as designed. The controls aren’t hard to figure out, the instructions were good and it’s easy to keep clean. We’ve had it now for a month or so and haven’t noticed that the grinder needs to be cleaned out, but I’m sure that time will come the instructions, however, are pretty clear on how to do so and it doesn’t look like it’s hard. The grinder is noisy, but so what?? I think all grinders are noisy and it doesn’t go on for very long what I like best about the coffee pot is that the brew happens very quickly once the coffee is ground.

If you’re looking for a reliable, basic coffee pot and bean grinder, this set is perfect, without many complicated bells & whistles and really just gets the job done! The coffee maker functions like a traditional full pot coffee maker, and does have a couple nice features like a reusable metal filter (paper filters are NOT included but are an option to use with this as well). It also has an auto stop feature that lets you pour a cup before the entire pot is finished brewing, and a programmable clock feature that lets you select a time for your coffee to begin brewing. The bean grinder is very simple as well, with a one push-button feature. You simply hold down the button for the duration of time based on texture of coffee. (Longer hold for finer grounds, shorter for courser.) Everything seems to just work consistently on this set. I will say the only drawback I dislike is the cleaning process. After reading the manual, it didn’t say any of the parts were dishwasher safe, so the parts that do need cleaning should be hand washed in warm soapy water, which is a bit of a process. Overall, this is perfect for a more simplistic no-hassle coffee experience, and I love that the coffee maker and grinder come as a set, giving you more of a choice in what type of coffee you buy. This would make the perfect gift for fellow coffee lovers as well!!

Nice 12 cup capacity, temperature was right to my liking, very easy setup, filling instructions produced a delicious pot of coffee. Customer Review: This auto grind brewer is coffee’s best kept secret with MAYBE one catch. This is my third time purchasing one. I keep coming back each year because for the price you can’t beat it. It outperforms the 300+ Breville I had to warranty twice. The Breville was a giant pain to clean every day with poorly designed construction. This is 1/4 of the price, the basket and blade design is simple, easy to use, and easy to clean. NOTHING beats freshly ground coffee ready as I wake up. Now THIS is my third one. I’ve bought one each year because the water eventually stops dripping very fast into the basket, and it actually gets so hot that much of the water evaporates before it gets to the carafe. Is this a durability issue or is it because I’m terrible at regular cleaning and descaling? Giving Black and Decker the benefit of the doubt here, but no amount of descaling seems to solve this – but again it may be because I hadn’t kept up routine maintenance. Other than that, I love everything about it, including 12 cup capacity that is perfect for me drinking coffee all morning.

Customer Review: This review is for the 10-cup DGB-850 with Thermal Carafe (stainless steel). After using this coffee maker for over 10 weeks, we are quite happy with it overall (after learning a few lessons). Perhaps this is an updated version of the model, but we have not had any of the issues some reviews mention, like problems cleaning the grinder burrs. In fact, this version does not even have user-access to the grinder parts, based on the videos and descriptions from others with problems. This model advertises that the grinder assembly auto-rinses all the grinds from the grinder – there is no disassembly to get to the grinder itself, and it appears to work fine without access. All we do to clean it after each use is rinse out the permanent filter itself (or toss the paper filter), and wipe moisture from the holder and the housing above the coffee carafe platform.

Customer Review: I’ve always liked this company on their products and everything. But I’m gonna give you some info on it that I just learned today with it. It just came today number one. If you go a speck over the water of the 10 mile, when you’re filling the water up, it flows out in the back, there’s a peephole in the back where the water comes out of I advise you to turn around and go below the 10 mark marker. So you’ll be sure not to have overflow in the back to my suggestion is to when you’re ready to clean it out, the filter part where your coffee beans go I would just wipe it out because I program mine for the next morning and it It will stick the coffee in the grinder part. So a lot of it didn’t go into the filter part to brew. The last thing is on the video with the man, not the first video. And the second one, he doesn’t tell you anything about on programming. The light on programming when it’s set, the light goes off. He doesn’t explain nothing on the programming. So it’s trial-and-error on this one, but all in all, I like it a lot, I really do keeps my coffee warm course. I will give you a hint. I’ve always liked thermal coffee pots. I would put hot water in the thermal pot while you’re fixing your coffee. For whatever occasion, okay, once that is all done, empty the hot water out of your pot, the reason to it is it keeps it hotter longer, okay, I’ve been dealing with thermal coffee pots, and that’s my suggestion cause I can have it up from 5 o’clock in the morning until almost 3 o’clock in the afternoon before it even starts just when Just warm Look how long it stays hot. If you warm your pot up. One more thing I will suggest for people who have animals, especially cats. If you program your coffee pot for the next morning. Beware of this, the grinder is very loud and I’ll give you an example. It scared my cat that you just wouldn’t believe it completely flew off. The bed couldn’t figure out the noise, but they do get used to it. She’s used to it now, but that’s a little joke. I’ll tell you. I don’t need any other grinder on the counter. The water inlet is in the back on the unit which makes it impossible to fully tilt the pot as it hits the cabinets no matter how you attack it or pull it forward. Spinning the whole unit around 180deg is the only solution. The hopper on the grinder has a rubber seal to keep the lid on, unfortunately its very hard to get the lid off. My elderly mother couldn’t get it off with out my help so I cut it off and it works like a normal lid on a hopper. The pop out filter tray is very nice and simple to use. The interface is pretty ok with simple buttons and LEDs. The brewing cycle is very quiet, but it’s a normal burr grinder level of noise. I moved it to a non ideal location in the kitchen and keep using it because the coffee is perfect every time once it’s dialed in.

Customer Review: This is a good coffee maker and I decided to give it 5 stars, although if I could I would have given it 4.5. The coffee maker looks great and easily fits under my standard cabinets. Seeing as this does have a built in grinder, it does make noise, but it could be worse. But this is something to keep in mind if you are going to make coffee while others in the house are asleep. To me, the coffee tastes great. I read other reviews about weak coffee, but mine tastes perfect just on the medium setting, although I have good beans. My only complaints are the time it takes to make a cup, it’s not as fast as a Keurig, it’s not horribly slow, but it is slower than Keurigs I’ve used in the past. My biggest complaint is that the unit makes a lot of steam, I mean a lot. So I have to pull the coffee maker out in front of my cabinets as I don’t want that steam to collect under my cabinets and possibly damage them. I’m lucky I live in a dry climate and I usually only make a single cup each day. So it’s not a big deal, but it’s a minor inconvenience.

Customer Review: Love this thing. I bought reusable aluminum filters and paper filters that fit inside. Fresh brewed coffee without waste. It’s the perfect coffee maker. The only thing I’d like to as would be an adjustable grinder but as is it’s pretty great. The blinking lights issue discussed in these reviews is the unit indicating that it needs to be decalcified. The instructions follow: DECALCIFICATION Decalcification refers to removing the calcium deposits that form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker. When all the lights flash in sequence upon turning the unit on, it is time to decalcify your coffeemaker. We recommend decalcifying every month for best performance. But the frequency really depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffeemaker. Directions: Step 1: Vinegar Rinse • Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white vinegar and 26 oz. of water. • Place a mug or other container on the drip tray. • Open and close the brew head. • Press and hold the Power and 8 oz. buttons for 2 seconds to start decalcification function. • Discard contents of mug into the sink. • Repeat until Add Water light comes on. • When decalcification is complete, the Power and Grind buttons will illuminate. • Discard any remaining diluted vinegar into sink. Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse • Repeat Step 1 three times using fresh water in place of vinegar mixture. • This will clean the brewer’s plumbing and remove any residual vinegar taste.

Using REVV No Surrender k-cups or the darkest beans from the local COOP I get consistently dark, rich wonderful cups of coffee. By using the grinder I can eliminate adding plastic k-cups to the dump – BONUS! For a larger cups I just use 1 k-or ground cup of coffee – twice. Works great. Pre-heat my mug to get a nice hot cuppa.
