Customer Review: “I plumbed this filter housing in and put a filter in it. I used brass fittings and went directly to PEX. No leaks and it was very easy to install.Immediately, I saw some black specks caught in the filter. None were larger than 2mm but there were a few. By day three, there were a lot more specks and I thought I could see a little yellowing of the filter. I am in it less than 2 months and the color is almost as dark as the OSB board that is on the wall behind it.I know that the municipal workers try their best and they do an awesome job with the huge systems they maintain. But pipes get old and you cannot help but get some dirt in the lines here and there.I would definitely recommend that everyone get one of these and use it. It functions very well and your peace of mind knowing you are getting cleaner water has to account for something. It will also help your other filters, ice maker, tap water, etc. last much longer.”

I put this filter ahead of my water softener and all of our water in the house tastes like bottled water. Our family has stainless tumblers and we have almost totally eliminated bottled water.The main reason I installed a whole house filter system is to remove the chlorine, this filter totally did that.The price is reasonable, and the performance is excellent.I change the filter out every 4 to 5 months.”

It is durable and super easy to clean, plus the bottom clean-out valve has also been handy for bleeding down the system when we need to work on other plumbing (an unexpected bonus). You do need to put some thought into your water conditions before selecting a filtration size though, or you can run into trouble as we did initially. I-Spring technical support helped us work through our issues (Thanks Sean!), but a picture of our filtration set-up and a brief description of the water situation are included below in case you want to learn from our mistakes (prior to making your own original ones :-).Our well water is high in iron, so we needed to install an iron filter [big black tank] to protect the plumbing and hot water heater. The very expensive iron filter required a minimum of 30 micron sediment filtration on water going in (or warranty void and {very expensive} filter life could go from 3+ years to a few months). Our well is screened in a fine sand, and tends to produce more than we would like. So we installed a high volume sediment filter [blue] with the disposable paper filters (5 – 30 microns) that have to be replaced periodically. Those paper filters, like everything now days, cost more than you would like. The better the water coming in, the longer they last, so we installed the I-spring spin-down filter [far right] to help stretch the life of those paper filters. We went with the 50 micron filter, thinking that would maximize the life on the disposable filters. Turns out that was a bad choice.Our well produced 10 gpm at the pump when it was installed last summer, but when we turned on the house system (all new construction) two months later, we were getting much less. We were afraid the well capacity had diminished due to the drought this summer, but testing with the pump and pressure tank showed it was making significantly more than what we were getting at the house. It turned out that the problem was that 50 micron spin-down filter. The amount of sand coming from our well was too much for that fine of filter, so the system lost a lot of water pressure forcing it though. After consulting with I-spring, we are now running a 200 micron mesh in the spin-down filter. It is still doing the job of removing most of the sand, but we are getting double the flow. Moral of the story, be sure to select the right size filter for your water conditions. If you aren’t sure, buy a couple of different sizes and test them out. We have mesh screens for 50, 100 and 200 microns now, and they all work in the same unit case.”

The for mentioned system doesn’t have the red pressure relief buttons, so this WSP-50 spin-down filter works perfect for releasing pressure for breaking the system down for servicing.I did have water pressure and volume issues after system install. After several days of troubleshooting I contacted customer support. Nick at iSpring Water Systems is a genius! He knew what the problem was instantly. The WSP-50 micron was to restricting for my well water system. Nick instructed me to remove the 50 micron filter and “Voila” pressure issue resolved! Nick subsequently offered to send me a 100 and 200 micron filter replacement. Over all, this is a great product and works well with the WGB32BM system, just make sure you have the water volume/pressure for the 50 micron filter. Furthermore, I cant say enough great things about Nick and his customer support at iSpring Water Systems.Update August 6, 2020.Nick at iSpring water systems sent me a 200 µm filter and after installation I had great water pressure/volume in the house as if there was no filter at all. It’s mostly acceptable water, but every once and a while we would see a noticeable color change in the water for a day or two – a yellowish tint. Customer Review: “I\’ve tried several different whole house water filter systems and this is by far my favorite. To keep this short I\’ll give you a quick overview. A lot of these systems leak it\’s one of the most common problems. The weak point is the connection ports. To fix that problem on this system they use brass threads which is strong and prevents cracks and leaks. The second common problem is reduced flow rates over time. This system can flow up to 15 GPM which is higher than most. This allows for the system over time to keep filtering and not have a noticeable reduction in pressure or flow. That also saves money in filter changes.My water quality with this system and paired with the HQUA UV filter is incredible! No smells, bad tastes or anything floating in the water. After having a water test I\’ve removed all the problems and now my water is in spec with state guidelines. The best part is it tastes great and I know my family is safe drinking it.Features:High Flow Quality Filters: The most important thing is obviously the filters. This system uses a Sediment Filter which strips solids before they get to the second filter. The second filter GAC + KDF removes heavy metals which are common in well water and city water. The third filter will clean up odor\’s, color and the big one chlorine found in almost all city water sources.Oil Filled Pressure Gauges for each filter: These are industrial quality gauges that allow you to monitor the pressures coming out of each filter. This will tell you if you have a loss in pressure and which filter needs replacing. They thought about everything and even prewrapped the threads with Teflon tape.Filter Drains: Each filter housing has a drain at the bottom that allows you to drain sediment that can prematurely clog your filters up. Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. This is a big system. Make sure you measure where you’re going to position it. The bracket for system is heavy and heavy-duty. We liked the fact that you can stop the water going to a particular filter for changing. Each filter has a drain, making changing filters easier because you’re not fighting with water. It has gauges which makes it easy to see if one or all of the filters need to be changed. It’s also nice that they included a cleaning brush for cleaning the housing. The appearance is really clean and the color is exactly as pictured. There is no smell and the functionality is fantastic. If you’re looking for whole home filtration system this is one to consider. We did initially have some leaks, but when we lessened the plumbers’ tape on the threads, it solved the issue. We have high water pressure, around 100 psi, so that can also make a difference. Highly Recommend.”
