Customer Reviews
Customer Review: We ordered these regularly. They make a huge difference in the taste of our water. Even our ice cubes are different.
Customer Review: fits right, good value. However, if you procrastinate 2 years, 6 months and a few days to replace, and only really do so because your water pressure has dropped to the point of a slow trickle, beware. When your water pressure returns to normal thanks to the new filter, it’s going to flush out all the crud that collected in the tanks that collected because of the low water pressure. If you also forget that the line needs to have the air bled out, you may end up with an angry spouse. Specifically, if she’s the first one to use the water by flushing the toilet, it may sound like it’s ready to explode. You may end up running into the bathroom to a very worried spouse and wonder how it appears that your sewer has backed up on the second floor of the house. Your kids and dog may then join in the bathroom and start yelling/barking that we need to get out of the house. Fortunately, with a minute or so, the toilet will settle down and after a few flushes, the brown crud in the water will disappear. Also, if you also forgot to get the finishing filter replacement cartridge, count yourself lucky or you’d probably have to replace it right away.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I’m the type of person that really needs to research a particular product before deciding on the best one to purchase, so I thought I’d leave this review to save others some time. Here’s why I bought the nu aqua system over the other whole house systems on the market:- Filter capacity. The two carbon filters, are COMPLETELY FILLED with medium. Apparently as a way to lower costs and increase profits, a lot of companies do not load the filter cartridges completely. It’s hard for an unsuspecting home owner to know this because a less than full cartridge will still perform well when it’s new. The problem is that the filters won’t last very long and you have to replace the filters more frequently. I can tell the nu aqua filter cartridges are completely filled not only because of the weight but when you shake the gac filter, theres very little movement on the inside because of how full it is.- Filter medium quality. This filter uses coconut carbon, not the standard activated carbon that a lot of companies use. Coconut carbon has way higher porosity and larger surface area than standard carbon, which make it way more effective in adsorbing contaminants. Most of the cheap filters on the market will use standard carbon simply because it’s cheaper to produce but just doesn’t work as well.- Heavy duty steel frame that allows you to mount the system against a wall or free standing. Most of the other systems on the market either have a frame that is too flimsy to support the weight of a system or it doesn’t have a steel frame at all. If it doesn’t have a frame, you can only wall mount it since you need a couple inches of space below the filter housing to do filter changes. The nu aqua frame is super heavy duty and can easily support the weird the system + all the water that runs through it.- Replacment filter cost. You’re going to change your filters every 6-12 months, so it’s a good idea to consider the price of replacements when making the initial purchase. I was surprised to find that not only are the nu aqua filters using higher grade medium and completely full but the replacement filters are 10-20% cheaper than others.Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. My family has noticed an immediate difference in water quality, especially in the shower. The steam from my showers no longer have a chlorine smell and my skin and hair definitely feel softer. Highly recommended!
Customer Review: Great product and even better customer service. Very responsive and helpful. Note – It’s worth reviewing the pros/cons of this type of softener vs. a traditional one, as they work differently. For me, it still made sense to get this one and we’re very pleased with the change in taste, odor, and feel.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Compact system that filters everything bad out. I had a plumber install it. I had tested the water before installing and the water came out very low in chlorine and very high in bacteria. I used Detekt water testing kit I got through Amazon to test the water. I retested the water after installation and the water came out negative for bacteria within 72 hours. I used a sterile cup to collect the water sample. After 72 hours the readings are not longer indicative of contamination per phone call with Detekt. I also tested bottled water to compare and found that the bottled water treated with UV light and reverse osmosis was positive for bacteria but Kind UV system treated water was bacteria free within 72 hours of testing.
Customer Review: After installing this system, our tap water tastes better than bottled water. I bought this system because it has everything that I need and the maintenance seemed straight forward. I was looking for a system that had not only particle filters and carbon filters but also, our tap water is extremely hard. So, the softener was a must as well. The UV was extra but we decided to get it. It isn’t a critical piece though. I just want the option to be able to turn it on, in case, we need it. I know it’s supposed to be on all the time but we don’t need it like that. We aren’t treating well water.I did some shopping around before settling on this system by Kind. One of the systems I was looking at had the exact same setup (carbon filter, debris filter, water softener, and UV) and they wanted $15,000. I literally laughed when the rep, who was in my house doing a demo, told me the cost. In any case, I believe this is a great value and the UV is a must if you have well water.Installation:I’m a DIY homeowner and I took on the challenge of installing this water treatment system on my own. It took me a few days to put the pieces together and then to gather the confidence to cut the main water line to my house. But it all went much easier than I expected. I did fall into 4 traps, two of which aren’t explained very well in the installation instructions (see below).Trap 1: (UV) Do NOT touch the glass sleeve or the UV tube with your fingers.Trap 2: (UV) Before inserting the sleeve, place the rubber O-Ring around the open end and slide it down to the mark (about 1/2″). This will make sure the gasket is seated correctly and should not leak.Trap 3: The big blue filter canisters each have a rubber gasket that is too large for the groove that they are supposed to sit into. TIP: lube up the gaskets and place them into a plastic bag in the freezer for 24 hours or more. This will shrink the gaskets just enough so that you will be able to QUICKLY press them into the groove on the canister and twist the canister into position before they stretch back out.Trap 4: Use thread tape on the male threaded parts and thread sealer on the female threaded parts.Once it’s installed, you will thank yourself. 5 stars.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: This softener has provided our motorhome with wonderfully soft water for almost two years. I have performed regeneration on it twice in that time. It is simple and economical.
Customer Review: This unit just works, very well. Huge difference in the pleasure of taking a shower with soft water rather than ultra hard Phoenix, Arizona water. The quick connect disconnector are not the best, they are not solid brass, but rather a coated product that fails very quickly meaning that the quick connect can’t be disconnected without excessive force. But the water softener is a great product, and that’s what I bought this for. Also, the manufacturer has wonderful customer service. We are now three weeks into use without needing a recharge, and I may update this about how that process goes. Very happy with the purchase.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: It says Whole House, but I bought it for my RV. It’s a bit bigger than a “regular” RV filter, but it does a fantastic job and at less than half the cost. Replacement filters are easy to get and very reasonably priced as well, though I have not yet needed to buy any. The best part is the pressure gauges on top of each stage, so you can know when pressure is dropping in a stage and just need to clean or replace that particular filter. Excellent buy!”Some assembly” was required, but it went together quite easily and more importantly, NO LEAKS!
Customer Review: Installed the 3 stage filter this weekend and immediately have seen great water quality. My well was just drilled over the summer and have had a lot of sediment in the water . The toilets tank had started to have buildup in them . I know it was going to destroy my water heater , washing machine and refrigerator. I am very happy with this system.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: We have moderately hard water and over the years, its damaged our pipes and faucets and when we wash dishes, it leaves spots and stains. We also had itchy and dry skin and until recently never realized that this was also due to the hard water.A friend recommended the NG4L and after hearing how its benefited them, we ordered it and it took a plumber less than 30 mins to install. Ours is inside the garage since it only needs flushing out once every 6 months. From the moment we installed it we could see and feel the difference. Our water feels ‘soft’, showers are different, the water tastes and smells cleaner, there’s zero spots or stains after dishwasher cycles, our skin is no longer dry or itchy. We 100% recommend this product. It pays for itself by protecting you and your home and it is by far the simplest and most effective way to eliminate hard water.
Customer Review: This saltless water filtration is superior to my salted old water softener. Not only does this water softener soften the hardest water that we have into Crystal clear drinking water. Our house is now fully filtrated and this unit is the best. There was however a broken part, the ball valve on the bottom, they sent one out the same day after I advised them of the issue. That is customer service and I really enjoy the fact that I didn’t have to fight to get a part. I have already recommended this to several of my family and friends. Also, if you’re handy, you can install this yourself. You just need to know how to sweat pipes, solder them, and know how to use a blowtorch, and the correct piping available to you. I also purchased the 8-month filter. The one that comes with the unit is a 6-month filter. All of the plumbers that I’ve asked said that these filters last a lot longer than what they’re advertised for. The majority said that as soon as we get lower water pressure it’s time to change the filter. I don’t know if this seller can verify that or not. I know you’re supposed to clean the mesh filter as well. I would imagine that would catch most of the lime scale and sediment. To clean The metal mesh, I would imagine we could just submerse it in CLR, and then do a thorough cleaning. Overall awesome experience and they have proves to me that customer service is Paramount to their product.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I used this filter to fill a 4,500 gallon above ground pool using our well water sprinkler system. Although the water didn’t come out crystal clear, it sure was better than if we had filled the pool without an inline filter. It even got rid of the rotten smell. We had issues when we first filled up the pool and it had to be emptied and refilled. So, in total, we used this filter to filter 9,000 gallons of water. We could’ve rented a carbon filter, but the cheapest rental we found was $350. Now, although the filter is for one time use only, meaning after 600,000 gallons of water, you get rid of it and get a new one, it can be refilled. You can purchase the filtering media, whether is carbon, a sediment filtering media like Turbidex, Iron and Manganese removing media, etc. You’ll need to empty all the carbon media first, clean it, add a base of clean gravel and then your media. All in all, this filter worked great for us and I recommend it.
Customer Review: Easy to install and made a big difference in water quality

Complete Buying Guide for Best Water Softener And Filter Combo
Choosing the best water softener and filter combo for your home is a big decision, and it’s totally normal to feel a bit overwhelmed! You’re looking for a system that not only makes your water feel better but also ensures it’s clean and healthy. Let’s break down what really matters when you’re making this important choice.
Essential Factors We Consider
When you’re shopping for a water softener and filter combo, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, know your water. Do you have city water or well water? Well water often has different contaminants and hardness levels, which will influence the type of filtration you need. Test your water to understand its hardness (measured in Grains Per Gallon or GPG) and identify any specific contaminants like chlorine, iron, sediment, or even bacteria. This will help you decide if you need advanced filtration, like a UV system. Consider the flow rate (how much water the system can process per minute) to ensure it meets your household’s demands without affecting water pressure. Also, think about the system’s capacity, especially for whole-house units – a higher gallon capacity means less frequent filter changes or media regeneration.
Budget Planning
It’s important to set a realistic budget for your new water system. Remember that the initial purchase price is just one part of the equation. You’ll also need to factor in installation costs, which can vary widely depending on whether you DIY or hire a professional plumber. Beyond that, consider ongoing maintenance expenses, such as replacement filters, salt for traditional softeners, or UV lamp replacements. Some salt-free systems might have a higher upfront cost but lower long-term maintenance. Look for systems with good warranties to protect your investment. Sometimes, spending a bit more upfront on a reliable, high-capacity system can save you money and headaches in the long run.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, the best water softener and filter combo is the one that best suits your specific water quality issues, household size, and lifestyle. Investing in a quality system will not only extend the life of your appliances and plumbing but also provide your family with healthier, cleaner water for drinking, bathing, and cooking. Take your time, do your research, and don’t hesitate to seek professional advice if you’re unsure. You’ll be enjoying the benefits of superior water in no time!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between a water softener and a water filter?
A: A water softener primarily removes minerals like calcium and magnesium that cause hard water, preventing scale buildup and improving soap lather. A water filter removes impurities such as chlorine, sediment, chemicals, and sometimes bacteria, improving taste, odor, and overall water quality. A combo system does both!
Q: How do salt-free water softeners work, and are they effective?
A: Salt-free water softeners, often called descalers, don’t remove hard water minerals. Instead, they condition them, changing their crystalline structure so they don’t stick to surfaces and form scale. They are effective at preventing new scale buildup and can help break down existing scale, but they don’t produce the “slippery” feel of traditionally softened water. Many people find them to be a great, low-maintenance alternative.
Q: How often do I need to change filters or regenerate the softener in a combo system?
A: This depends on the specific system, your water hardness, and how much water your household uses. Generally, filters in a combo system need to be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Traditional salt-based softeners regenerate based on water usage, typically every few days to a week. Salt-free softeners usually don’t require regeneration or filter changes, but may have a media with a multi-year lifespan. Always check the manufacturer’s recommendations for your specific model.
Q: Can I install a water softener and filter combo myself?
A: If you’re comfortable with basic plumbing and have the right tools, some simpler whole-house or portable units can be DIY installed. However, many whole-house systems involve cutting into your main water line and might require professional installation to ensure proper function, prevent leaks, and comply with local codes. Always consult the product manual and consider hiring a licensed plumber if you’re unsure.
Q: What are the benefits of having a water softener and filter combo?
A: The benefits are numerous! You’ll enjoy softer skin and hair, cleaner dishes without spots, prolonged lifespan of appliances (like water heaters and dishwashers) by preventing scale, better-tasting and smelling drinking water, and reduced exposure to chlorine and other harmful contaminants. It’s a comprehensive solution for improved home water quality.
