Why didn’t I think of that earlier? A friend had recommended the disposable breast pads, but after wearing them just a couple of times, my girls were chaffed and cracking. Once I switched to these cotton pads, I never had that problem again. You can throw out the lanolin creams. It is true that they are thick, but you can’t see them through a padding nursing bra. You can see them through a sleep bra and thin pajama top, but it’s better than seeing the girls standing at attention and it’s better than the disposable kind that look all crinkly (like you did a bad stuff job in junior high). I have never had these pads leak during the day. At the beginning when you are overproducing milk, I woke up a couple of times with the pads soaked through when the baby started sleeping longer through the night. I’m convinced that nothing would have contained that amount of leakage. The good news was that the leakage was contained to the pads. I switched them out and went back to bed.
