So I tried a Tinana brand Espresso machine but it still didn’t produce a very good espresso no matter what I did. I saw this an decided to give it a try an I am very happy to finally find a coffee machine that can give me both a strong cup of coffee and a strong cup of espresso in the same machine. The only problem I had when first using this Unit was when I tried to make a pot of coffee using the paper filters it came with because I thought I had a defective machine when I found water coming from underneath but it was overflow from the filter even though I used only the amount of coffee it said in the instructions. The filters were only good for a cup of coffee not a pot of it which is why I think a lot of reviews about it leaking water is because of the filters it comes with. I have bought some reusable filters that work great with this on this site I would definitely recommend this system to everyone it is definitely worth the money spent I will update later if anything changes. I have been using the Reusable Filters an have not had anymore water leaking from the bottom of the machine. I have tried everything that this machine does an it has been an excellent machine I finally have a machine that produces a strong pot of coffee an single cups an espresso. I have ordered the Bluecup refillable espresso pod starter kit so I can use my own coffee to make espresso because the non refillable ones are getting expensive. My journey towards owning my nespresso started 6 months ago when I first began browsing Amazon for espresso machines. Without settling on any one in particular, I went back to using my keurig style machine and spending $30 week at Starbucks. I’ll partially blame my 3 year old who learned the phrase “pumpkin loaf” and started demanding a Starbucks trip each morning for the ridiculous amount of money I found myself spending each week. Customer Review: I’ve been searching for the ‘perfect’ coffee-maker for some time now, and I have to say, this Nespresso VertuoPlus comes pretty close. We’ve been using a Keurig for many years now, and while it’s certainly convenient and easy-to-use, lately the quality of the coffee has not been good. I can’t seem to find any Keurig pods that make decent coffee any more, and even though my Keurig is only about a year old, I was sick of crappy tasting coffee in the mornings. So I bit the bullet and tried the Nespresso VertuoPlus, and it’s SO much better than the Keurig–as others mentioned, it’s like getting good coffee from a coffee shop. I can make an Americano that tastes virtually identical to what I get at Starbucks or similar shops, and the machine is very easy to use. Even my husband, who is extremely picky about his coffee, was very impressed by the taste, although he thought just the 7.7 oz. pods alone were a bit on the weak side, so has been using a shot of espresso in them which did the trick. The Pros: Relatively low price for the machine; very easy to set up and use; and great tasting coffee. The Cons: Pods are expensive and not widely available in stores; you can find a couple varieties of Starbucks vertuo pods in local stores, but that’s about it. They’re mostly available on-line via Nespresso or Amazon, and we’re talking an average of about $1 a pod. It’s also a bit noisy, which doesn’t bother me, but may annoy some people. All in all, I’m very happy with this coffee maker, however I’ve only had it a couple weeks, so I can’t attest to its durability. I love how quick this machine is. I used to make moka pot coffee, which is noisier (or the grinder is), faster, and not as tasty.-Cheaper pods – for me, since this is true espresso, this is a more cost effective way of enjoying my coffee. It is a fraction of the cost of a coffee shop, and since buying the Inissia I have almost ceased going to the coffee shop at all. The unit is cheap enough to outweigh the costs of buying the pods anyway.-The pods run around 70 cents a shot across the board. They’re about the same price whether through Amazon or Nespresso’s website, but Nespresso will usually give you a good “Starter discount” and a gift the first time you order, so using a combination of the two might be helpful.Cons of the Inissia:-Ordinary coffee from your grocery store cannot be used with this unit – only pods from Nespresso are recommended. This means you can’t try out different coffees and their flavors using this machine. You can buy occasional new flavors through Nespresso though.-The drip tray must be removed if a taller mug is used to collect espresso.-“A little” noisy. Doesn’t wake up sleeping kids in the next room though. The machine is a little loud. Nevertheless, even larger cup of coffees are hot. If you like good and strong coffees it is a good choice.
