Seriously though, this is an absolute necessity… it’s that one baby accessory that you don’t realize you truly need until you purchase it.Other pails have fussy lids that latch shut. Some have a step lid, but even that can be kind of cumbersome when your hands are full. The Jool Baby diaper pail has a motion-sensing lid that just requires a simple hand wave to open. The CONVENIENCE. This pail comes with a pack of liners to get you started, but the thing I love the most (after the motion sensing lid, of course) is that you can use regular kitchen trash bags as liners, so you don’t have to purchase proprietary liners that are made exclusively for the brand. Because nearly every other pail on the market has its own special liners, and it gets old after a bit.Oh, did I mention the part where there are no smells? Because there are no smells. They are completely contained, and this deserves a 6th star based on that alone.This pail is lightweight, easy to set up, and is extremely aesthetically pleasing, clean-looking, and modern. Customer Review: “This is a nice, big and tall diaper pail. There are no doubts about that. It has 2 lids, the one that opens upward, and another that opens downward. Mine did not come with ANY bags whatsoever, like the listing shows it should have. I don’t know if that was a one-off mistake, or how they are shipping now. Luckily for me, you can use plain kitchen bags in it if you like.In my experience, it looks kind of like the litter genie I use for my cat. With one lovely exception in that this has an automatic lid sensor. That makes all the difference, it makes it much easier to use…especially if dealing with a wriggling baby.It’s of fair durability, it is essentially a plastic shaft on stilts with a magic lid. It says it will hold 50 diapers and probably could do that, I agree. The question is can it block the smell of 50 diapers, especially if you are just using kitchen bags? I don’t think so and haven’t tried it to that extent just due to ick factor. I do, however, think this could give you 2-3 days break which is all I think most people are looking for.It’s a decent product, it does require 4 batteries for the automatic lid to work. I’m taking one star because I didn’t get the first set of bags as advertised, and also because it’s a little deceptive to say it can hold 50 diapers and imply it won’t smell. Maybe if you are a daycare and emptying every day, but if you only have one child you will be emptying this way sooner than 50 diapers. I also find the cost a bit high for what it is.”

I remove entire top lip and then scoop litter into waste bag that way. This works great, as the waste bag holds lots of used scooped litter and waste. The best benefit is that it cuts the odor at the litter box down immensely. No more smell! The waste smell stays locked in. It is easy to change the bag out too. Each bag pack lasts a very long time! Customer Review: “I use the breeze cat litter system, which has a pee pad and hard pellets. Three times a week, I bag the dirty pad and solid waste in a doggy poop bag. The trick is holding the bags until trash day. I had been using a diaper genie for about 5 years for this – a poop bag ends up about the same size and weight as a diaper – but the hinge on the pail’s lid was going out. It wasn’t great in terms of odor containment and I really hate the liners, so I decided to look into alternatives before ordering the same thing again. (To be fair, I did get my money’s worth out of that pail.) I liked this one for the simpler opening, generic bags, and metal construction. Just wow. I love it. This pail is much easier to set up and use. I can use a scented tall kitchen trash bag instead of the annoying liners. With the pail in my garage, the bag can go 3 weeks without smelling, though in summer when the garage is warmer I’ll likely drop that down to 2 weeks. (Compare to 1 week for the other brand.)”

Customer Review: “So simple and conventional you might think upon initial assembly you just bought a gimmick product. But no…this really works. As a fully disabled person who is bed and wheelchair bound and with very limited bathroom access, I use a bedside commode. Recently my caregiver situation changed as did use of my commode. I suddenly had to switch from a water commode solution to a dry solution. Which means the use of “one and done” commode bags. I needed a waste bag solution for very, very strong odors. And fast.After having to live with a temporary bag disposal solution that was not at all viable or effective I began researching odorless trashcans. None were suitable for the task at hand. Design needed to be right, size small, operation simple, cost reasonable. My thought went to “how to control poop odor” to who needs it, to babies, to diapers. And I was led to many choices of diaper pail.The reason I chose this one…LA Baby Magic…is its ability to accept larger waste items and deal with it effectively. Other pails I found have small openings which my used commode bags would not fit through. I’m a full sized adult male with a regular diet, so you can imagine the capacity needed. Both the accepting receptacle and inner pass through into the lower pail appeared adequate in size concerning this pail, however. And just as importantly as a disabled person I needed easy one hand operation. No lid to hold open, no foot pedal operation, no buttons or latches to operate. The single motion flip handle system of this pail fit the bill.And what do you know? This thing works very well! It accommodates all my needs as stated above and best of all eliminates odors for the most part! No fuss, muss, or mess. And I have a great sense of smell! Still…nothing really to speak of. And I keep the pail close to my bed. I wouldn’t know there are two commode bags full of poop nearby at the moment if I didn’t in fact know it. And neither would anyone else. I also spray a very strong stool deodorizer in my commode bags before and after each use. I can smell it all over my room if spayed in the air or on a surface. And its fragrance certainly easily penetrates a tied commode bag. But once in this pail? I can’t even sense that! This thing is just that good at what it does. I can’t imagine anyone would have odor issues using the pail given a choice of where to place it in a room. In my recent experience its excellent. The only time I notice a stench is when actually disposing waste in the unit. But again, it comes and goes at the flip of a lid. Not very intrusive at all. Just be sure the receptacle is centered when not in use for proper fit and seal, and all should be well. There are no rubber or plastic seals or gaskets on the pail to wear out and leak odor. Nothing to be sealed down or twisted tight. It just works. Honestly, I’m amazed.For my purposes I empty the pail every 72hrs, max. After that time odor does become apparent if not intrusively so. There are two or three commode bags full of adult fecal matter in the pail by that time so I don’t expect it to block odors forever. But even after that time it’s at 90%+ odor negation I would say. You’ll realize just how well it works when removing the bag for disposal, as opening the container of course allows odors to escape. After emptying the pail I recommend leaving it open in a well ventilated area for several minutes to air it and gently wiping the insides down with simple soap and water, or similar non chemical, non corrosive wipe. Just to keep everything fresh and hygienic. Reassemble the unit and its ready for use, good as new. Care for the pail is as simple as that. Highly recommended product.”

We love that you can use regular trash bags, and we just use the same 13 gallon ones we use in our kitchen. It saves a lot of money, and when you have a newborn every penny helps. THERE IS NO ODOR and the lock feature works great. The only time we can smell the diapers is if it gets left open during a diaper change, or when replacing the bag. The bag is a little bit of a pain to remove from the pail, but it makes sense since the pail needs a tight seal to lock in the odor.”
