This is what happens when you lay your toddler down and they don’t really want to take their nap.
And they know that if they make too much noise you will know that they are up to no good and not really sleeping, so they tip toe around making the biggest mess ever and having a blast while doing so. She didn’t even make a peep!!! So when I opened her door I saw this…
(See that guilt grin? If only I could hear what she was thinking. I imagine it was something along the lines of, ‘Ahh..crap! I’ve been caught!‘)
Then I see this….
Her entire first two drawers…empty!
Yeah, she knows she’s in trouble! And all of the ‘Good Morning‘ s and ‘Hi Mama‘ s won’t get her out of it…no matter how cute she and her little voice is.
Ok well…maybe it helped her a little. God made this kid cute for a reason…it totally saves her!
So I made her clean up.
And to whoever made up the ‘Clean up, clean up…everybody everywhere…‘ song, I love you because it totally helps her get movin!
Just this morning she has managed to spill:
- an old soda that was sitting on the counter from last night.
- milk from her cereal
- my full cup of coffee (She is more in love with coffee than I am and tries to sneak a drink any chance she gets.)
- and finally, her entire plate at lunch. The dog was happy but I on the other hand wasn’t.
I swear she does this on purpose!

Hi! I’m a Twitter follower, and boy, have I seen non-nap related messes like this one! My little boy used to do the same thing. Now I lie down next to him and hold his hand until he falls asleep, which is fine by me because I’m pregnant and could usually use a little nap myself! And no more messes! That one’s a real doozy though! Good for you for making her clean it up!
This is why I hope my daughter never outgrows her crib, I could see her doing the exact same thing.
Cute does save them, doesn’t it LOL?
Oh you have no idea! Wait…yes you do! lol She’s moving to a big girl bed in a couple of weeks when she starts sharing a room with her sister. Damn…I’m going to be so sleep deprived soon!
Hahaha…I know exactly what u mean… my little guy often doesn’t nap! Lego strewn everywhere, pens, pencils, torchlights and anything imaginable disassembled… and all it takes it just 5-10 minutes u spent in the bathroom!
Oh My I would have lost it, these pictures brings back some memories. When Aly was about that age she had a friend that use to come over and the room looked ten times worse then that every time they went to leave,Drove me nuts.
Good luck on the bed girl bed hun!
Could be worse. I’ve left the Desitin in the bedroom and it ended up ALL over instead of my oldest taking his nap when he was about 3.
At least she helps clean up. That’s awesome.
OMG! lol That must have been a MESS!!!
OMGosh! I can’t wait to have my daughter go to bed on her own. I know it sounds bad but I’d rather this than rocking her to sleep at night.
