As many of you know I have two girls and one boy. My older two children, Sassy (8) and Little Man (4) share a room while Little Miss (2) has her own room because she is still in the crib. Sassy has been turning into a little lady recently and has decided that she needs her own space and privacy from her brother. Totally understandable right? There are days that I need more privacy from my man! lol
Little Miss isn’t climbing out of her crib yet and loves her bed so I really want to keep her in it as long as possible, even though I know Sassy really wants to start sharing a room with her instead. She needs a girl space, privacy from Little Mans eyes when she’s undressing and more pink in her room! Those are her words! ‘Mama, I need more pink…I’m tired of the white walls! I’m a girl ya know!?”
So my question is, when is the right age for me to move my son out of the room and the baby into the room with my daughter? I really don’t want to get her out of her confined area crib yet because…well I’m not ready for her to be that independent. When is it inappropriate for girls and boys to share a room? I feel bad for Sassy but I’m stuck on this. Any suggestions? Did your son and daughter share a room? When did you separate them?

I say right now would be great. I obviously don’t have the boy/girl problem. But when my stepson comes for a visit, I make him give the girls space. He is 6 but we started when he was 4.
Can you let the two girls share a room and keep the crib? If there isn’t room you could maybe move a dresser into your boy’s room to make room temporarily. Then rearrange again after your littlest one is out of the crib.
