So obviously things in our house have been stressful lately. Sure, nothing detrimental but stressful none the less. For the past week or two my sons eye has been watering and getting goopy. I’ve been hoping it was just allergies but now I’m not sure. This poor little guy has been through so much. Five or six (can’t remember now) eye surgeries for clogged ducts, hospitalization for health issues, special diet, ear tubes and so on.
The surgery before last they had to place a tube in his tear duct in one of his eyes. To do this they had to insert the tiny tube in his tear duct and sew it into his nose so that it wouldn’t move. It was supposed to be a simple in and out surgery but when they got in there to place the tube they realized there was a piece of bone in his nose that was in the way. So what did they have to do? They had to break his nose. YES! You read that right.
Broke it.
It was a small piece but still. He was so sore for quite a while. He was only about 3 at the time and it was supposed to work. He had had three or four previous surgeries where they just went in and placed a ‘balloon’ in his duct to open it back up but after all of those not working they decided to do the tube.
He had the surgery done and was in recovery for quite a while. The anesthesia was so hard on him and he woke extremely violent. It took me, his dad and two nurses to hold him down. No joke! He kicked one in the eye too…I felt terrible. We got him home and then a couple of days later, like any normal 3 year old he was curious about this new ‘body part’ and put his finger in his nose one day to feel it. What did he do? He pulled it!
OMG I wanted to cry for him.
When he pulled it he immediately cried and grabbed his eye. OUCH!
Well now I think his duct is clogged again and I don’t want to have to put him through anymore.
This sucks!
So when it rains is pours baby! I’m so ready for this hurricane to be over already. I need some sunshine, rainbows and happy shit. Enough with all this piddly crap that keeps piling and piling.
Please keep Little Man in your prayers that this is all allergy related. I don’t want to have to put him through another surgery.

Just seen this hun, Ally was like this for years and so was Damian. You more then likely have tried this but thought I would mention it anyways. A warm cloth as hot as her can stand it on his eye a few times a day and to massage that area help each time with Aly and Damian! HOpe he doesn’t have to go through any more booboos. Love ya girl !
