Whenever we go somewhere and I know that Little Miss is going to be crabby I try to bring something along to help keep her in a good or semi good mood. This day she didn’t have much of a nap before we had to pick up my oldest from school to go to her weekly vision therapy appointment. So what do I do? I pack Oreos.
BIG MISTAKE!
This idea of how it would save time, tears, tantrums and cries of insanity (from me) backfired. Big time! See this is what happens when you give a 2 year old Oreos in the car.
Yep! Good thing she’s cute! She spends most of her days being crabby which makes me believe that God made her cute for a reason! lol
So did it save me time? Nope, had to clean her up.
Did it save me tears and tantrums? Nope, she hates being messy so this was not (obviously) the best idea. Lots of tears and tantrums from being uncomfortable.
Did it save me from my cries of insanity? LMAO NOPE! Because driving a half hour, in the rain, with a toddler screaming in the back while the other two are getting mad and complaining because she is throwing a fit only makes mommy crabby!
Oh well, live and learn right?
What was your biggest bribery mistake?

UH OH I’ve done that with oreos or a sucker!!! UGH
lol Yes! We did that last night at Wal-Mart. Suckers = big sticky cart and kid!
When my daughter was 10 I promised her she could dye her hair blue at 14. Guess what we did on 20 September? Dyed her hair blue!
LOL! Thanks for the laugh and for letting me know I’m not alone. I can’t necessarily give you my BIGGEST bribery mistake, but I can give you my most recent. Not that there are alot *blush*, oh well, yeah, there are alot. Okay, most recent was Monday. My daughter is having a hard time with separation – going to preschool. She was screaming and pretending to be an octopus with rigor mortis so her Dad couldn’t get her into the car to go to school. She absolutely hates the “naughty step”. I can’t even remember the last time she was on it, all we have to do is mention it and she suddenly regains her hearing and does what we tell her to do. Sooooo, stressed out with trying to help get her in the car, I say, “Maya, get in the car or you have to go to the naughty step.” OOOPS! She answers, “I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go to the naughty step.” OOOPS! I hate it when she thinks faster than I do
OMG That is hilarious!
Love the Oreo face. Our worst bribery moments are offering something completely nonsensical that he takes seriously, like, “Sure, we can make some more police cars drive by” (he loves the sirens) or “Absolutely we can ride that train” that’s whizzing by on the tracks. I’m only human and all…but apprently my 2-year-old doesn’t know that yet.
