Vtech Bugsby Reading System Giveaway (Ended)

Over the years with having three kids we often find that reading to our children 24/7 is difficult, thanks to the pittly household chores that never seem to end. If only I could hire someone to play with them for a couple hours a day while I get things done until I am free to sit and snuggle with them while reading them story after story. Sadly though, that would cost money which I don’t have to spend. But my kids love to read and love to have stories read to them even more. This is why I am so excited to tell you all about the new Vtech Bugsby Reading System.

The Vtech Bugsby Reading System is an electronic pen that reads Bugsby System books to your child and lets them also play games. There are many different books and the pen is so easy to use. Just take the book cartridge out of the book and plug it into the pen, voila…you’re done and your child can sit and read the book on their own with help from the pen. I have found that it is also helping my son learn to read by learning site words.

The pen is a cute little caterpillar named Bugsby and lights up and talks through the whole thing. There is even a volume control on it which is great. You can either choose to have Bugsby read the whole book, let your child glide the pen over each word or picture or they can hit a little game option so they can play.

The Vtech Bugsby Reading System is similar to the LeapFrog Tag Reading System but the difference between them is that with the Leapfrog one you have to download each story off the internet onto your child’s pen after you purchase the book. And the pen will only hold so many stories. But with the Vtech Reading System you just take out the story cartridge and plug in the new one directly into the pen. No downloading, no computer time! I like this option better and so does my son because he likes to feel like he can do things all on his own. Here is a small video to show you how to change the cartridge and how the pen talks and lights up.

What I love about the Bugsby Reading System: I like that there are many books to choose from. I love the colors, stories and games. I love the fact that you can hook up headphones to it so if you’re in the car you don’t have to listen to it for hours. The caterpillar is cute and my kids love that he lights up. I really like that each cartridge can just slide in without having to go online to upload each story.

What I didn’t like about the Bugsby Reading System: Honestly, there is not one thing I can think of that I didn’t like about it. Everything is well made, works great and is fun for the kids. So no complaints here!
