The school concert and the escape artist!

It’s not very often that my daughter has a school function, concert or play that is on a day when her dad can go with us, but this year there was. We were so excited to go together as a family and my parents were going to meet us there. The concert was a recorder concert and some songs for Veterans Day. (Yes, this was last week but I’ve been too busy to get this post up.)

So we get there, get our seats and everything is going well. Sassy Pants is usually (every year) on one of the ends so I got a seat that I thought would be perfect since we arrived early. From where I was sitting I could se both ends perfectly. ‘I am going to get some rockin’ photos this year!’, I thought. How did that work out for me? Ohh…well..it didn’t.

Perfect! Ugghh…

She was in the front row in.the.center! Crud! From where I was sitting I could only see the top of her head. Little Miss was getting restless so it was the perfect opportunity for us to just stand on the sidelines. I could get better pictures that way and she could *sit* (yeah right) next to me.

It sounded like a good plan at the time.

As some of you know Little Miss loves to sing and dance and as far as I’m concerned she is going to be her peers’ Brittany (classier Brittany) one day. So what does she do when she sees all of them singing and dancing? Well she starts to sing and dance of course.

LOUDLY!

Then she decides that that just isn’t good enough. Surely for her to be seen she would have to join the class.

(insert completely red and embarrassed face here)

This was Sassy’s face when she saw her sister running up trying to join in the singing and dancing.

Of course everyone in the audience got a great laugh out of it while I just wanted to cover my face and yell, ‘Little girl, where is your mother? Geeze some people and their kids!’ lol

We kept bringing her back, trying to get her to sit down and stop singing and dancing to no avail. Then she got mad at me and decided that she wanted my mom. So she runs around screaming,

“NANA!!! Nana, where are you?”

Uggh..really?

So my mom came over and got her and took her out of the gym kicking and screaming!

It was a great evening. NOT!

I did get a few pics but they are far from great or even good. Oh well…at least my friend got some photos and video for me. She even has Little Miss on there running up to be with the class. She ran right in front their video camera, so I’m sure that will be great! lol

LOL, it’s just so funny when it happens to someone else, sorry! I’m sure it will happen to me one day. On the other hand, when they are older, they’ll have fun laughing at the pictures and videos, I promise! BTW, you’ve got such adorable kids!
