After almost three weeks with one car I am beginning to go a little nuts. Not only can I not leave the house but I have to bug my parents to borrow their car so I can get to appointments, go to the store, etc. and so on. And they live about a half hour from us so this royally sucks! I feel like I’m 16 again asking to borrow the car. ‘Daddy…..’
We I have been searching on Craigslist for three weeks.
THREE!
**tick tick**
Looking, hoping, searching, dreaming that we find a car that we can afford and isn’t going to break the bank. I’ve found a bunch that I like but I have to keep my wallet in check, so my dreams of a Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, Nissan Quest, Ford Expedition or GMC Yukon are not going to happen. I’m fine with it now. I’ve accepted it and moved on. Now I’m searching for a car or small SUV for my husband to get to and from work so that I can finally have some freedom and be able to leave the house when/if we need/want to.
Here’s my issue and yes, I’ve said it before. I am sick and tired of scammers! Do these idiots really think that I’m going to buy their crappy stories of how they moved to another country, got transfered, joined the military or have decided to join a circus in France to dance with the crazy beard lady while riding on a pink elephant?
Ok I made the last one up but c’mon…
**mumble mumble**
Not only that, but these people must think their cars are made of gold when they overprice them. I mean, $1200-$1900 OVER the blue book value is NOT going to happen. PERIOD! Well unless someone like Johnny Depp (sigh) originally owned it. Your little Chevy Cavalier with 200K miles priced at $3900 is not going to sell. And telling people you are “firm” on the price only makes us chuckle as we think about what a freaking tool you are and how you’re going to be driving it until you’re 80 or the crazy beard lady comes to buy it from you so she can start her own clown car with Bo-Bo the clown. I think they’re lovers.
Crazy sidenote: We have even gone around to probably 20 dealerships. No joke! And can’t find anything. I mean, we were close once but were turned away once the racist dealer realized that my husband is Mexican. Seriously? This is 2010 and my husband probably works harder than your dumb ass. While you’re sitting outside smoking, relaxing in your little folding chair every day reading an old copy of a newspaper, my husband is working two jobs trying to take care of me and our three kids. He was very sweet when he came up to us but once my husband started talking (because if he doesn’t talk you wouldn’t probably know he is Mexican.) he got cold and said that they didn’t have any cars in our price range before he walked off. We got in the car and hubby was pissed saying how he had looked at their website before we left and in fact there were about 7 or so cars there (that he saw online and while we were there) that were very much in our price range. JACKASS! Our money is just as green as the Jones’ money…it spends just the same.
All I want is a car. An affordable one and one that isn’t attached to some scam artist living in some foreign country. I’m not asking for a million dollars (although it would be freaking sweet! And if you want to throw some money my way I won’t turn you down.) all I’m asking for is a car so that I can get my sanity (or what little was left anyway) back. Being locked up in my house with three crazy children, a dog that thinks she owns our house and thinks that our kitchen is her own private toilet, and more freaking snow and cold weather that I wouldn’t even wish on my worst enemy, is HORRID!
HORRID I tell ya! For all you moms out there that deal with one car daily, I don’t know how you do it!
I’m done. I need freedom!
Dear God,
Please…I’m begging you…throw me a bone here. All I want is a car.
Oh and world peace.
Wake me up when the car is bought, paid for and sitting in my driveway.

I don’t think it had to do with race. I think it had to do with him getting a larger commision. When we was car hunting I was the one going to the dealers and calling. I went to a ford dealer and I went to the site I seen what they had… When I got there I told him my range… He did the same shit dood did to yall. He goes well we dont have anything in that range. He to turned around and walked away… I said yea sure ya dont, but what the fuck ever I will find someone who wants my money. Sure enough the bank wanted it… took us a little over a month… You will find something soon. I am praying for yall.
Might sound strange but have you checked Ebay or Craigslist? I’ve heard of a few people finding good used cars on those sites. Good luck!
Yep, as I said in my post…I have been stalking Craigslist for 3 weeks! lol
you poor thing… i so know what your going through for a very long time when we only had one kid( we now have 3 and another on the way) i use to go nuts….. so i feel ya… hopefully you will find something soon…. i’ll keep my fingers crossed for ya
steph that sucks really I understand hun you know my last name Perez! Weve not had issue with that but a lot of other,. I too think its about price too though which blows my mind. In today’s economy they should be happy for ANY sale
Exactly Lisa! Would he rather it just sit on the lot and take up space? Why not sell it?
Have you looked at Hyundai? We just bought a Santa Fe… and I have to say I like it over Toyota and Nissan.. they also have the Tucson which is a bit smaller… we had a really nice experience at that dealership as well… so good, in fact, that my husband traded in his Civic for an Elantra.
