Ok I’ll admit it, I am probably the biggest safety freak ever! With my husband always at work it’s usually me taking all three of the kids out with family, friends or by myself and the thought of loosing one of them at a park or mall is one of my biggest fears. Kids can disappear in a split second while you turn your back to look at something or catch one of your other little speeding children. When your child is too little to know your phone number, especially your cell phone number, this is especially scary. What happens if they stray away from you and get lost? What will they do? How will you find them? I recently learned about a wonderful, very smart product called Safety Tats. These waterproof, kid friendly tattoos go onto your child’s arm without water and have an area for your cell phone number.
We used these Safety Tat tattoos when we took the kids to Grant’s Farm; a very busy park. They were great and so easy! My kids loved the colorful, fun design and I loved that fact that they:
~ Went on with no water needed.
~ Stayed on the entire time we were there.
~ Were visible and eye catching, just in case.
~ Didn’t cause a rash and were easy on their skin.
~ Were easy to remove.
Here’s how they go on:
My son loved his dinosaur tattoo!
My kids went through the sprinkler at the park with them on and they stayed on with no problems. My youngest really loved that she had a cow on hers and was ‘mooing’ all day long. But that’s not the only kind of temporary tattoo that they offer. Safety Tats also offers:
~ school information tattoos for school trips
~ tween tattoos for teenagers that have medical issues that need to be displayed just in case of an emergency
~ special needs tattoos and more.
The tattoos can even be customized with your cell phone numbers, allergy alerts and you can even get a travel tattoo set that includes a marker to write on them with. It is always a good idea not to display your child’s name on the tattoo just in case. The temporary, waterproof Safety Tattoos last 1 – 5 days and can be easily removed by gently pealing back the edges and pealing away slowly. To make it a little easier for children with sensitive skin use a little moisturizer around the edges.

Now THAT is cool. As you know, I have no kiddos, if I did, though, this would be something I would totally want!
When applied to the arm of your child or loved one, SafetyTat provides an immediate, highly visible form of identification that stays in place even when wet!

This is such a great idea! I don’t have little ones in the house, but I can see great advantages to using these. The allergy ones are brilliant, too!
I learned that SafetyTat Awarded The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval. This is wonderful
Thank you for the chance

I found the story of how the woman started making these tatoos interesting! Whenever we go somewhere that will be crowded, I used to mark our cell #’s on the kids’ arms in permanent marker but throughout the day it would always rub off. So I started putting pieces of paper with our #’s on them in their pockets and telling them that if they get separated from us, that they should give the piece of paper to a security person to call us. But I love the idea of these tattoos!!!! So ingenius!!!

I learned a valuable tip: Teach children that if they are ever lost, Go to a Woman. Why? De Becker says, “First, if your child selects a woman, it’s highly unlikely that the woman will be a predator; A woman is likely to stop whatever she is doing, commit to that child, and not rest until the child is safe.”

These look SO Cool!
I love these. I am always obsessively worried about my son getting lost and I think these would be a great way to keep peace of mind. I like also that they offer different kinds like for allergies or when they get lost etc. And they must be good if they are in all these magazines and sites!! I would love to win.

I love that these can also be written on, thus if you are not at your usual work place, home, etc, you can write grandma’s number or an alternate cell on your child with their tat pens. Too cool!!! I would love some of these for my son!

I learned that on Labor Day Weekend, Michele and her husband, there with their three small children, felt out-numbered. To stave her panic, she quickly wrote her mobile phone number on each of their arms with a ballpoint pen. As she did this, she thoughtfully explained to each of them the importance of staying close to Mommy and Daddy. She also told them that if they were separated that the number on their arm was a way to reconnect with them.
