Our new fridge!!!

YAY!!! Thank God for tax returns right? What would we do without the one time in the year that we get a check that is basically like cashing in a ‘savings account’ for the emergency items or whatever that you need/want?! Well I’ve said it before about all the damn things in our house that all decide to either break, leak or fall apart all at once or around the same time. Ahh….how do I have bad karma? Ok…yes, I know…it could always be worse! BUT if *one* thing could work and not give me hell I would be soooo freakin happy! Here is our list of things that are being POSs right now:

~ kitchen cabinets (falling apart!)

~ one of our doors (being a POS)

~ my computer (um..well…it’s already been said a million times! It’s the BIGGEST POS there is!!!!)

~ our bathroom has been torn apart for a year because our daughter decided one night while in the tub that it would be a fantastic idea to stand on the soap dish that was attached to the ceramic tiles. Yep, she fell! No, she wasn’t hurt! And yes, our wall came down with it! GREAT! Turns out the people that lived here before us had a leak in one of the tiles (bad caulking) and it damaged the wall little by little! So we decided to fix it and well….still haven’t finished because we ran out of money!

~ my fan broke in my bedroom! Bought a new one…broken in the box! Go figure!

~ my cell phone! Another complete POS! Half the time I can’t even use it because it either has no friggin signal when it should or because it decides that the not-so-smart-chip isn’t installed correctly, because you *know* how I love to take it out and play with it! Grrr….

I’m sure there are more things that I’m forgetting but we’ll leave the last one as …

~ our refrigerator! It came with our house…well…kinda! I wouldn’t buy the house unless they left it and some other stuff because it was our first house and we didn’t have the money to go out and buy all tons of crap. So they left it. Well for the past 6 or so months it’s been leaking all over our floor. Every morning I would wake up, stumble into the kitchen to make my coffee and chug sip on it and while going for the toaster to make some toast would walk right into a huge COLD puddle of water!

Sooo…”we” (because everything “we” buy my husband says is because *I*, NOT HE, wanted it! Whatever…) decided that since “we” have our tax return “we”should get a new fridge.  Well…ok…I’ll admit it, being not so rich has turned me into one cheap mama! If it’s not on sale I don’t buy it. If I can find it somewhere else for a couple bux less then we’re going there! So when going to buy a new fridge “we”(lol) decided to go to Sears Outlet. At Sears Outlet they sell the items that have been opened, models, scratched, dented and so on for cheaper prices.

Well we couldn’t find one there that really made us say, “We have to have that one!” so “we” kept looking. FINALLY we found one!!! No dents, only two small scratches and…the best part…is exactly what “I”wanted. Top fridge, bottom freezer, ice maker and water dispenser in the door and although it wasn’t the color I really would have liked (I wanted stainless steel) it was black…my second choice. So here it is! I’m so excited to wake up every morning to a nice dry floor and really fresh, cold water that *I* can dispense in my glass and NOT on my floor! lol

Look at how much space it has!!!

And all the space on bottom too!

Oh and the BEST part?! It’s a $1500 fridge and we only paid $800 for it! Nice huh? :) The salesman wanted $1000 for it but I told him my limit was $800. THEN he wanted $900 but I wouldn’t budge and was ready to leave when he offered me $800! YAY! It was a mom and pop type store and with the economy sucking eggs lately he realized it was a smart move to take anything he could get for it! Great for me…not so great for him!

So what do you plan on doing with your tax refund?

I’m glad you got a good deal! We bought out washer/dryer set for cheap because of two little scratches. Definitely a good move to look at ones that have tiny blemishes.

We got our tax return in Feb, so most of it is already gone…
