Today has been one of thosedays! I’m soooo glad it’s finally over. It started out great! I got up, took a shower, fixed my coffee, got the kids breakfast and them ready and got my oldest off to school. Then I started some laundry, picked up the house, made beds and bribed my son to stay in my room quietly while my youngest had her Developmental Therapy. After that we did lunch and it was time for naps. Have I ever mentioned that nap time in my house is like…the BEST thing in the world? lol So my mom got there and then it was time to leave.
So all was well….(sigh)…until I had to leave. My oldest daughter had an appointment, so I get in the car to go pick her up and the car is acting funny. ‘Hmm…’ I thought, ‘it’s probably because it’s so cold out today.’ By the time I get to my daughter’s school, which is only about 2 minutes away, I was really thinking something was wrong with the car. I popped the hood to check and then I noticed a bit of smoke and a nasty smoke smell. CRAP! This is NOT what I need today! Hell, this is NOT what I need this week! So I go in and call my dad (he knows everything about everything) and he tells me what to do. I drove home, going like 15MPH just to be safe. And I ended up taking my mom’s Rover to the appointment. I was sweating the whole time. ‘Dear God, if I do anything to this car my parents will kill me! And I would have to sell my first born to be able to afford repairs on it. Please help me!!!’
So I get home and my dad comes over to check out my piece of shitcar. He fiddles with it, drives it around, checks under the hood and then tells me that it’s not the car, it’s the operator! HA! Funny dad! So all was good again. Or at least that’s what I thought! Grrr…
So thenI call Walgreens to see if my daughter’s ADHD meds are ready (we dropped the prescription off last Tuesday). SUR-FREAKIN-PRISE!!!! It’s STILL NOT ready! The new insurance company wants a doctor’s note saying that my daughter needs it. Funny…I thought that’s what a prescription was! Dumb me! It’s not like I wrote out the prescription myself! I called the doctor’s office and then they tell me that since they don’t provide that insurance yet they probably won’t have any luck. WONDERFUL!So now my daughter’s been without her meds for two whole days and probably another couple more. She has been out of control and I don’t have enough patience to deal with it sometimes. I find myself locking myself in the bathroom for five minutes of quiet wonderfulness. Too bad those five “wonderful” minutes are accompanied by knocking and screaming at the door.
Well that’s been my day. Now the kids are in bed; not asleep yet but still….they’re in bed and I’m finally having my first quiet time of the day. Anyone have a couple hundred bucks so I can have a kid free weekend vacation? I could REALLY use it right now!
