I am so completely frustrated that its not even funny. I am so sick and tired of this damn Murphy’s Law crap! I tell ya what…Murphy can suck it! We have been waiting for forever to get new floors in our house. We decided that we would get them finally, with our tax return this year. So with our faces grinning and thoughts of new carpet and vinyl dancing through our heads, we walked into our local Becky’s Carpet Center like 5 year olds looking at our brand new bike under the Christmas tree. We went in, walked around, tossed different ideas back and forth, finally decided on what we wanted and put a deposit on it to hold it so that it could be delivered and installed within a couple of weeks.
Wonderful!
I was so excited that we were finally going to get our new carpet, entry foyer, bathroom floor and kitchen floor done. I couldn’t believe this day was finally here.
Until…
my husband called me three days later from work telling me that his car broke down.
It.is.dead!
Go #&%*$#%&@ figure! Ahhhh….so goodbye new kitchen floor. So long, nice thinking about you. Maybe I’ll see you next tax season.
And so now, I have to search.
And search.
Annnnnd search.
And %&#*#(@ search some more. Until we find something we can afford. HA! ‘Afford‘? Yeah right, that’s gonna be nearly impossible unless I can pay them in corn chips and pebbles. Wonder if I could clean all their cars in their lot each week for half off my payment?
Hmm…yeah probably wouldn’t work.
I would say that we could just do with one car, or try for a while, but Little Miss is starting pre-school next month, Sassy Pants and Little Miss will both have summer school, then there’s their swimming lessons this summer and Karate classes for Little Man. Then there’s all of the other things that moms have to do like grocery shopping, trips to the doctors, dentists, 10 minute sanity drives alone through the neighborhood and well…you get the idea. I can’t be without a car anymore.
We’re currently looking at something like this:
Or this:
But only if we can find it at a low enough price that we can pay cash so that we don’t have to have a car payment.
Loans and debt scare the bajeebies out of me!
And before you (like Lynsey) ask me if I want to loose all of my ‘I’m sexy and I know it‘ mojo or my ‘I could be a mom but my car doesn’t prove it‘, just know that yes, I don’t care right now. We can’t afford what I really want…
(Angles singing!)
I’m so frustrated and just want this to be done and over with already. Can’t someone make this decision for me? I hate making big decisions and don’t need this extra stress right now on top of everything else that’s going on (long stories). So if you know someone that is selling one of those two cars for cheap, send them my way. I’m ready to get this decision over with and move on to worry about and deal with everything else that’s on my stupid plate. I guess to look at the bright side we are still getting our new carpet but only because I refuse (REFUSE) to live with the dirty carpet that we’ve had for the past six years.
And Murphy? Screw off and leave me alone. Isn’t it enough that my sink is now leaking so bad that we have to call a plumber? Or that our vacuum cleaner doesn’t work anymore? Or that our bathroom floor boards are rotting from water leaking from the shower? Or maybe that our kids are going through enough crap that we could have a Lifetime Movie Network show done about them? Plus all the other million things that are going on (wrong)!? I need a #&%@*(%@# break already!

If you all have a bank that does loans, I suggest going and talking to the loan officer. We did this and got super lucky we ended up with a 05 Grand Prix GTP blue book 12.500, of course after interest thats what we will pay but off lot it was 7,700. We got super lucky the loan officer was friends with the dealer dood. And we went in and gave our sappy story and they did what they could to get us into something we could afford. With the economy the way it is they will do what they can to sell a car. Good luck hun.
Thanks for the advice Jammie! I appreciate it!
Oh Honey I;m so sorry you aren’t able to get the floors. I know how much you wanted them done. I know we have talked about this alot and I hope that you are able to get something you like and can afford. Love you babes
Love you too sweetie!
I’m sorry Stef, that would have me peeved too.
But if it makes you smile, you made me laugh…you mentioned the ONE thing that I hated about St. Louis more than anything….the flying carpet lady commercials. Ahhhhh!
LMAO!!!
I know the commercials are a little…different! Glad I could make you remember the (not so) good days of your time here!
