See this adorably sweet little face?
Aww…precious right? This is our ’sweet’ little Chihuahua, Princess Chalupa (obviously my daughter named her! lol) and was the runt of the litter. She is so teeny tiny! And even though she is pretty darn cute she is quite the little shit bunny disturber.
A couple of years ago I saw her in the backyard chewing on something. I go out to see what she had and couldn’t really tell. Then I hear a little ‘crying’ noise and I see that there is a nest of baby bunnies. Aww…they were so little that they didn’t even have fur yet and it was hard to tell what they even were. Then I found 2 that had been played with and were dead and one that was 1/2 eaten and the other was barely recognizable as anything. *GAG*So obviously she had eaten some of them. Ok…she was bigger than them…whatever.
Then early in the summer the kids found something in the yard. Fur. Umm….wth? That’s all that was left was some old fur. *gag gag* There was enough fur that I *thought* it could have been bigger than her or at least around the same size.
So then last night comes. I went out with the girls for my sisters birthday (post and pictures later) and my parents were at our house taking care of the kids. They took them outside to play and later when I called to check in my mom told me that sweet, little Princess Chalupa had eaten another bunny, although, this wasn’t just a bunny this was a rabbit….a BIG one! “How in the hell did my sweet, teeny tiny, runt of a rat dog catch, kill and eat a rabbit that was bigger than her?” Then my daughter gets on the phone. “Mom, did you hear what Princess did? It was gross!!! There was lots of blood” (crickets chirping)
All she said was that it was fresh and that there wasn’t much left except ears and the back legs. (Ugg…I just threw up in my mouth a little.)
She eats her food but I’m guessing she doesn’t like her new food that we bought her because instead of eating that yesterday she devoured a rabbit. Silly Chihuahua, rabbits are for wolfs. So I think it’s safe to say that my Chihuahua is hungry like a wolf. *GAG*

Oh my that is gross. Chihuahua’s are know to keep vermin away from their homes. They will protect your home from any smaller furry animals! If I remember correct in Mexico they were used to keep the rats out of their house! Guess Princess Chalupa is just doing her job! Good little doggy! hard to believe that something so small could take done a rabbit though, rabbits can be pretty brutal to with their feet and teeth! Can’t wait for the night out with the girls post ~
I had no idea about that Lisa! I was so grossed out! Hope I don’t find any pieces out in the yard. *gag*
