Happy 9th birthday baby!
I can’t believe that I am the mother of a *gasp* NINE year old!!! Where has the time gone? I remember her first day here on earth like it was yesterday! Her big brown eyes, her olive skin, her full head of curly hair (that is unless I combed it down with water for pictures as seen to the left! lol), the smell of her baby feet after her first bath, the warmth and softness of her skin and the way I thought I’d never get tired of hearing her scream and cry throughout the night because, after all, she was my first and any sound from her was music to my ears.
Needless to say a lot of those things have changed. I don’t smell her feet anymore after her baths (no matter how cute they still are! *gag*), I hate hearing her cry or throw fits because, lets face it, she is after all now a nine year old and any mother of a child this age can tell you that everything is dramatic and can start the end of the world! So obviously there are times I wish she 
would stop talking for 2.5 seconds. She does however still have the same big brown eyes, that light up any room she is in, that she did that day! Full of sparkle, shine and beauty…she is my angel.
Each day that I spend in her presence makes me so aware of what the true blessings are in this world. Sure, having all the best of the best and being able to out due the Jones’ is all swell but I wonder if the Jones’ have as sweet of a child as I do…I doubt it since she is certainly one of a kind. Out of all the children I’ve ever met in my entire life I’ve never been so proud of any of them as much as I am of my little girl. She is a fighter, a tender-heart, a giggle and smile whenever you need one and even those times you didn’t think you did. A hugger, a sassy pants, a teacher, a friend, a dreamer and a lover of all animals. There is nothing this girl can’t do or accomplish. She has proven to me and many others that she can do anything she sets her mind to. I couldn’t be prouder of my little big girl.
My mom informed me that seeing as how she is now nine she is half way to 18! OMG!!!! Thanks Mom! These past nine years have flown by in the blink of an eye so I can only imagine how fast the next nine years will go. However, I look forward to all the wonderful things that we will share together in the future. Her first date, her first breakup (yeah, not so wonderful but a life lesson that we will share together), her first time behind the wheel, her first dance, homecoming, prom and graduation. Her wedding day when I fluff her big white dress and help place her vail. *getting teary now* The day she welcomes her first child into the world and of course the day when her daughter turns nine and she starts thinking all these same things about her child.
There is nothing in the world I have ever wanted to do or be more than a mom and I couldn’t be happier being a mom but most of all being a mom to such a special, beautiful daughter. So from all of our past wonderful days together to all of our future wonderful days together, today I wished her the best birthday ever and this evening tucked her into bed and welcomed her to the beginning of her pre-tween years.
*sigh*

Such a sweet post. Your daughter is such a beautiful 9 year old and I’m sure that in her next 9 years and long after that she will make you even more proud than you are right now…I know mine do something every single day to amaze me and make me realize how incredibly lucky I am to have them call me mom!
